- The math: yearly price divided by 12. Porchlight Solo is $35/mo or $350/yr, owner only, no staff accounts. Team is $79/mo or $790/yr, unlimited staff.
- What the two Revelation plans differ on, per their grid: Silver does not list daycare support. Gold does. Both list boarding, cattery, grooming, training, online booker, integrated payments, booking reminders and vaccine management. Their page does not say how many staff each plan allows, so we are not guessing. It says larger businesses and businesses with more than one location should contact them for other options.
- Revelation Pets says there are no set-up fees and no long-term contracts, and it offers two months free when you pay yearly.

Where Revelation Pets is the better pick
- Facilities. Kennels, catteries, daycares and groomers are what its pages are written for. It has a boarding calendar, boarding cards, occupancy reports, grooming calendars and van driver management. If you run a building with a front desk, stay with this kind of tool.
- Payments inside the software. Revelation Pets lists integrated payment processing, and clients can pay deposits and invoices online. Porchlight clients pay invoices through your own Stripe account, with a Porchlight platform fee on top of Stripe’s standard fee.
- Online booking and reminders. An online booker you add to your website, plus automatic confirmations and reminders, including optional SMS. Porchlight client texting is coming soon.
- Vaccine tracking. Records and automatic expiry reminders to customers. Porchlight does not do this.
- Accounting hand-off. Their site says every invoice can go to QuickBooks or Xero. Porchlight offers CSV export only, with no sync.
- Packages and credits. Daycare credit packages that clients can buy online, with expiry periods.
- Free data upload. Per their pricing page, they upload your existing pet and customer data for free, even during the trial, subject to the quality of your file.
- A lower price at one size. Silver at $60 is below Porchlight Team at $79. Gold at $77 is within $2 of it.
Where Porchlight wins
If your business has a building, a front desk and a vaccine shelf, Revelation Pets fits it better. If your business is a phone and a route, Porchlight does.
- Sitters and walkers. Porchlight is built around visits: check in and out, checklist, photos, notes, access codes, a walk route on the report card.
- A sitter app that works with no signal. A full visit can be finished in airplane mode and syncs later. The queue survives a force-quit and a reboot.
- Solo owners. Porchlight Solo is $35 a month. Revelation’s lowest listed price is $60.
- Unlimited staff, in writing. Team is $79 a month for unlimited staff, with every feature included.
- Every notification is on record. Each is logged with a delivery record, and failures are retried, so you can look up what happened to any message.
- Payroll math. Porchlight calculates sitter pay from visits and exports a CSV for QuickBooks or Gusto. It does not run payroll.
Switching from Revelation Pets
Revelation Pets is not one of the four built-in Switch Kit sources (Time To Pet, Precise Petcare, Pet Sitter Plus and LeashTime), so there is no dedicated importer for it. Their FAQ says you can export customer and pet data before closing your account. The Switch Kit has a generic CSV import with column mapping, a dry run, duplicate checks and rollback. It may work with a Revelation export, and the dry run will show you before anything is saved. We have not tested a Revelation export. See /switch. Keep your Revelation account open until you have checked the preview, and plan separately for the things Porchlight does not do: vaccine reminders, online booker and card payments.

What is the difference between Revelation Pets Silver and Gold?
Per the grid on their pricing page, the only difference shown is daycare: Gold lists it and Silver does not. Everything else in the grid is on both plans. Ask them about staff limits and anything not in the grid.
Is Revelation Pets cheaper than Porchlight?
Silver is cheaper than Porchlight Team ($60 vs $79 monthly). Gold is $2 below Team. Porchlight Solo at $35 is cheaper than both, for an owner working alone.
Does Porchlight take card payments or send texts like Revelation Pets?
Card and bank payments, yes, through your own Stripe account, with Stripe’s standard fee plus a Porchlight platform fee. Texting, not yet: it is coming soon, and Porchlight sends push and email notifications today. If texting is a must-have, Revelation Pets has it now.
Can I move my Revelation Pets data to Porchlight?
Probably, with the generic CSV import and column mapping. It is not a built-in source, so run the dry run first. We have not tested a Revelation export.
