Dog boarding software
Dog Boarding Software: Rooms, Runs and One Flat Price for Small Boarders
Porchlight is dog boarding software for small boarders and sitting companies that also board. Rooms and runs, capacity checks, a waitlist, vaccination checks, a daily ops board and stay invoicing come in both plans: Solo $35 a month, Team $79 a month with unlimited staff. Large kennels with many runs fit better in a tool like Gingr.
Updated Oct 2026. Porchlight is a competitor to the tools named here. Prices were read from each vendor’s page in October 2026.
What the boarding tools do
- Rooms and runs: set up the spaces you have and assign each stay to one.
- Capacity checks: a booking is checked against open rooms and runs before it is confirmed.
- Waitlist: when you are full, the request goes on a waitlist.
- Vaccination checks: records are checked at booking.
- Daily ops board: who is in, who goes home, and who needs care today.
- Stay invoicing: a stay becomes an invoice with nights, extra pets and holiday surcharges.
Boarding and daycare are in both plans, not a separate add-on tier. If you also walk dogs and do drop-ins, those run in the same account. For daycare on its own, see dog daycare software. For the feature list, see the boarding and daycare features.
Price: Porchlight against a kennel tool

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly, billed monthly | $35 | $79 | $169 | $179 |
| Monthly, billed annually | $350 a year | $790 a year | $142 | $154 |
| Staff | Owner only | Unlimited | See Gingr | See Gingr |
Sources: porchlight.pet/pricing and gingrapp.com/pricing, October 2026. Gingr’s smallest plan, Spa for groomers and trainers, is $100 billed annually or $109 monthly. Gingr shows its Stay price with Integrated Payments active, and lists $209 a month ($179 billed annually) without. The two tools are built for different sizes, so a lower price is not a like-for-like win. Gingr is built around the building. Porchlight is built around the sitter and the schedule. See Porchlight pricing.
Where Gingr or another kennel software fits better
- A kennel with many runs and many dogs a day.
- A facility that sells grooming appointments or retail at a front desk.
- A multi-location business (Gingr lists custom Enterprise pricing).
If that is you, look at Gingr first. If you board a handful of dogs at a time, run a sitting company that also boards, or want walks, drop-ins and boarding in one place, Porchlight fits.
